Salzburg City - a MUST for all sightseers!

For city explorers and museum lovers, visiting Salzburg City is a must. Whether with children, a tour group or as a romantic date – Salzburg has something to offer everyone! Hike up the Salzburg “city mountains” and enjoy the magical views of Salzburg below. Especially from Hohensalzburg Fortress, the views are one of a kind! Stroll through the narrow streets of the historic district and visit the numerous museums inside the city. Children have a particular love for the "Haus der Natur", the Toy Museum as well as nearby Salzburg Zoo in Hellbrunn.

Or, how about a ride on a horse-drawn carriage? No reservations necessary, from Residenzplatz you will set out on a tour of the picturesque “Old City” lasting 20 or 50 minutes. And if you want to experience Salzburg City from a whole different perspective, how about cruising along the River Salzach on the scenic speed boat "Amadeus Salzburg"!

Off to the fascinating world of Tennengau

As the northernmost gateway to the Tennengau holiday region, Puch is an ideal starting point for your excursions with the whole family. Over 30 top excursion destinations in Tennengau are just waiting for you to discover. 10 of the most popular sights are even within 15 km of Puch:

In just a matter of minutes, you will be able to reach the old part of Hallein with the Museum of the Celts, the Silent Night Museum and many romantic places. Higher up in the mountains, in Bad Dürrnberg, you will be able to enter the salt mine of "Salzwelten Salzburg", going deep underground into the world of “white gold”.

Just a few kilometers away, Adnet – the “Marble Village” – invites you to discover the history and evolution of this red stone, both in a museum as well as on a fascinating theme path. Hike amid special natural habitats and rare animal species at "Lebensader Taugl" in Bad Vigaun. Then, unwind completely at Heiltherme Bad Vigaun or, one town farther along, in Kuchl on Bürgeraussee. At the museum there, you will also learn some fascinating facts about the region.

A look across the border into Germany

Via the A10 Tauern Autobahn or over the Dürrnberg in Hallein, you are just a stone’s throw from crossing into Germany. In just a few minutes, you will reach Berchtesgadener Land with its wide range of attractions. Within 15 km, you can discover the Berchtesgaden salt mine, the Watzmanntherme and the Rossfeld scenic road. Afterwards, your journey may lead you to Schönau on Lake Königsee, where you can enjoy a romantic cruise to St. Bartholomä or ride the mountain lift up the Jenner.
