Hiking in Puch

Unique scenic spots, such as the Hubertus Chapel on the Schönalm, await along 8 easy and intermediate hiking paths in Puch. The clearly signposted paths lead you from the village to the recreation area, up the Almerberg, or to the Ursteinsteg with its unique panoramic views.

In order to hike to St. Jakob am Thurn, take the Rosenkranzweg via the Vollererhof to the Erentrudisalm or to Hinterwiestal and the Wiestalstausee. All hiking paths, including descriptions and refreshment opportunities, can be found on the local Puch map or, in greater detail, in the Tennengau Hiking Book.

Tennengau Hiking Pass

Collect points on one of the varied 150 hiking tours in the Tennengau and stamp the various tours into your Tennengau Hiking Pass. In Puch you can earn a total of 44 points on 8 tours. You will find the stamping points on the panorama map.

Depending on the length and difficulty of the hike, you can purchase the corresponding hiking pin for € 3.50 (free for children under 14) at the tourist office. Here you can also obtain the free Pucher Panorama Map and the Tennengau Hiking Pass as well as the corresponding hiking maps.

Hiking in Salzburg City

The nearby city of Mozart, Salzburg, doesn’t only promise cultural discoveries. Salzburg also enchants its visitors with broad parks, including the famous Mirabell Gardens, as well as city mountains that are wonderful places to hike.

The Festungsberg, right next to which is the Mönchsberg, with the Kapuzinerberg directly opposite, are within comfortable walking distance of the historic district. A little out of town, the Gaisberg as well as the Untersberg to the south invite you to embark on more extensive hikes. Tip for sports fans: the "City Wall" fixed-cable climb on the Kapuzinerberg!

Summer Lifts

The fastest way to get to the top of the mountains, of course, is to ride one of the summer lifts in Tennengau: The  Donnerkogelbahn in Annaberg-Lungötz and the Hornbahn Russbach in Brunos Mountain World lead you into the heart of the Dachstein-West hiking paradise. The Zinkenlift in Bad Dürrnberg and the Abtenau mountain lift on the Karkogel will also carry you up to immensely popular summer Alpine slides.

Virtually year-round, hikers, panorama lovers and nature fans can ride the nearby Untersbergbahn from St. Leonhard up the Untersberg.
