Winter Hikes in Puch

Unique scenic spots await you during your winter hike in and around Puch, including the Hubertus Chapel on the Schönalm. Or, during Advent season, why not visit the Adventmarkt in St. Jakob and enjoy a magical walk accompanied by alpacas around the small lake.

From the village, clearly signposted paths lead to the recreation area, up the Almerberg, or to the Ursteinsteg – a bridge offering great panoramic views. Ski Area in Tennengau

The ski resorts and small lifts in Tennengau, with a total of 240 kilometers of pistes, are suited for pros as well as beginners. From Puch, you are basically just 20 minutes from the Zinkenliften on the Dürrnberg and the skilift in Krispl.

Ski Areas in Salzburger Land

In addition to the nearby Tennengau ski areas, it takes you just 40 min to get from Puch to even more top ski resorts in Salzburger Land. The lifts in Werfenweng are quickly reached, as are those of Ski Amadé encompassing several top regions: Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein, Gastein, Hochkönig and Grossarltal.

A special highlight close to Salzburg City: the Untersberg. The challenging 7.5 km long piste is just a 20 min walk from the mountain station of the Untersbergbahn.

Cross-country skiing keeps body, mind and soul fit and is one of the healthiest winter sports. The closest cross-country trails are in Elsbethen on the Gaisberg at Kriechbaumgut and in Hinterwinkl at the inn "Die Ramsau".

Around 170 km of prepared cross-country trails with more than 30 easy to challenging routes await you in Tennengau. Further cross-country trails can be found in Grödig, Faistenau and around the lakes in the Salzkammergut.

Winter away from the piste

The central location of Puch offers you boundless holiday enjoyment during the winter months. Aside from alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and winter hiking, Puch gives you a number of other opportunities to keep active in winter.

Untersberg, Zinken and Rossfeld, Schlenken and Trattberg. There’s a great sledding hill on the  Karkogel in Abtenau, while the nearest ice-skating rink in Salzburg city is just a few minutes away.

Carriage Rides

Perhaps the most leisurely way to discover the magical winter countryside of Salzburg is by taking a ride on a horse-drawn carriage. In nearby Salzburg City, carriages await you on the Residenzplatz for pleasant tours of the historic district.

In Tennengau, we recommend a romantic sleigh ride through Bluntautal in Golling or, bundled up in warm blankets, through the winter landscapes of Lammertal.
